Gore-Tex® Experience Tour

Make your outdoor dream come true - side by side with the experts!

The first ascent of an untouched summit; filming an outdoor documentary in the Scottish wilderness; a photo expedition to Norwegian’s Lofoten archipelago or manufacturing a trekking-shoe legend: side by side with the experts. Young outdoor enthusiasts from all over Europe are invited to apply for a chance to make their outdoor dreams come true.

The goal

The first GORE-TEX® Experience Tour projects start in Autumn 2010. The ambitious objective is to bring together expert heroes and the young outdoor community. To realize this goal, GORE-TEX® has mobilized outdoor specialists from different countries who are ready, willing and able to share their passion and experience. The project will result in new approaches and innovative ideas that push boundaries and contribute to the development of outdoor sports.

The experts

The professionals include four-time world champion ice climber Ines Papert, extreme climber Robert Jasper, award-winning BBC outdoor documentary filmmaker Cameron McNeish, and internationally acclaimed shoemakers Lukas und Lars Meindl. The Experience Tour is conceived as a long-term project, so additional experts will participate in the near future.

The projects

The projects are varied and different: there will be ‘urban adventures’ as well as alpine expeditions. They all involve cross-disciplinary skills indirectly linked to sport, such as outdoor photography or television documentary filmmaking. The search is on for talented youngsters who want to develop their skills side by side with an expert.
