5 Ways to Sleep Outside

This year we’re launching the first E.O.F.T. Adventure Camp in Slovenia. Then 2 x 2 lucky winners will have the chance to spend two adventurous days in one of Europe’s wildest regions at the beginning of May – together with the WIDE BOYZ!

To get you in the mood for adventures, we collected five ways to sleep outside – inspired by the athletes of the E.O.F.T. 17/18 – from a comfy night in a van to an adventurous sleepover in a portaledge.

Hanging around: A hammock

You don’t have enough capacities to carry a tent with you or camping is too boring? Then bring a hammock! You just need trees or anything else where you can hang your hammock – and the relaxing can begin. Ben and James show us how it’s done in DUG OUT.

Comfy and secure: A van

You enjoy the nature, but you really don’t want to give up a warm bed by the end of the day? Then a van might be a good solution for you! Pro tip: If you like the minimalistic lifestyle, you can even live in a van, like Steph Davis from CHOICES.

For adventurers: Portaledge

You’re a passionate climber, and a big wall climb is your big dream? No problem with a portaledge! Thanks to the hanging tent system you can sleep at the wall in the sky, and in the morning you just continue climbing where you stopped the day before. Sounds temping, doesn’t it?

Simone Moro and Tamara Lunger camped in the snow on their Kangchenjunga traverse

The good old tent

The classic one – you can bring your tent almost everywhere – and it’s the most common way of sleeping outside. Nowadays you can even use it in extreme weather conditions like snow and ice – like Simone Moro and Tamara Lunger in LA CONGENIALITÀ.

Romantic: Under the stars

For the romantic dreamers who want to sleep under a sky full of stars, just bring your sleeping bag and enjoy the view – and cross your fingers that it’s not going to rain. You’ll feel really close to the nature – we promise!
